Hi!
I’m not really good at giving advice on practicing as a closeted witch, as I didn’t really practice until I had my own place. There are a number of lovely posts with tips on practicing as a closeted witch on tumblr if you do a search on closeted witch or secret witch even. My main advice is definitely do not do anything that will potentially cause you to be evicted from your home suddenly. I know it sucks not being able to practice out in the open at home, but being without a home is no fun either.

A Water Witch in Winter
Here in Ohio, it is already winter. Even though the Equinox isn’t until the 21st, Winter has already reared its head. As a water witch, this is my favorite time of the year. I can gather the snow for some snow water and all I have to do is step outside and I am in my element, no travel necessary.
The most beautiful thing is how cleansing and purifying the snow can really be. To feel the snow gently caress your skin is one of the most comforting and reassuring things in the world. It is a reminder that you can still be mighty and gentle at the same time. It is the time to be soft but firm.
This is also the wonderful time of the year where I really feel a connection to Skadi. This is her time of the year. This is her time of strength, endurance, and dare I say, maybe even a little revenge. This too aids as a reminder that there is nothing wrong with being a strong powerful woman and that nothing will stand in my way.
A lot of people think that this time of the year is the worst for the water witch. It is cold and everything is white or grey and you can’t get into a body of water or whatever excuse you can think of. I think that this time of the year is awesome. You can make snow fairies, build snow men, draw sigils in the snow and leave them till they melt, stand in the snowfall to cleanse, collect snow for snow water to use throughout the year. To me this is the BEST time to be a water witch.
A water witch in winter is a beautiful site to be had. This is why, I love being a Water Witch of the Midwest.
Chants to bring fog and mist
To bring fog:
“Tumbling skies, bring darkness below. A blanket of fog, both gentle and slow. Thick as a forest, light as a kiss, coat the lands in your softness, bring me your bliss.”
To bring mist:
“From the clouds above, and the seas of old - I summon whispers of water with air below. Line the trees, line the skies and allow me to see, breathe hints of the ancients, breathe hints of the free.”
